Hello

We made it home on Friday evening at PM EST after a mere 25 hours of travel.  What a wonderful sight waited at the airport for us.  I was never so happy to see Dave and Joe.  Baby J did not know what to make of all the hoopla and was just kind of watching everyone.  Joe got her to smile as soon as we got home which makes him think he loves him more than daddy, LOL.  Boy was it cold when we went outside what a change.

Baby J slept for about 10 hours of the 14 hour flight.  I tell you she is a very special child.  What can I say about traveling home but United Airline and Chicago customs rock.  First united changed our seats so Mary and I were in the aisle seat and window seat and no one was between us so that meant Baby J had a seat for herself and that was huge.  So thank you Wany in Hong Kong who works for United.  Secondly when we arrived in Chicago the customs line had 150 people in it, the customs officers saw us and all the other parents of adoptive children and moved us to the front of the line.  This happened continually throughout this airport.  The workers were so kind and would just come and move you to the next line  and they kept telling me how kind I was and thank you for adopting her.  They honestly were so nice it was a pleasure to travel and I am sure all my travel mates going to Chicago felt the same way.

So how has it been since you arrived home you ask?  Well lets just say that first night Baby J proved to her momma that she has a good set of lungs. LOL!!!  Now I have been telling you what a good baby she is well that night she cried and cried for hours.  I could not do any thing to make her feel better.  At about 6 am she finally fell asleep on the couch and I on the floor next to her.  We slept for about 6 hours.  We then got up and she was back to her old self laughing and happy baby.  She is cautious with Dave but freely laughs for her big brother Joe, she thinks he is silly.  On Saturday evening she was crying off and on and I thought maybe she was grieving or confused or jet lag which by the way sucks. She went to sleep around PM EST and she slept until AM EST.  That was wonderful I fed her a bottle we played for a few hours and she became cranky and at AM we went back to bed until AM.  Well when we woke up she was crying and so hot.  I took her temperature and she had a fever of 102.5.  I gave her some motrin and called the doctor.  She went to her first Dr.s appointment he said it is probably a virus and it needs to run its course it will probably get worse before it gets better but if she is not better by .  She seems to feel a little better tonight she is napping as I type this and I am hoping that she will go to sleep around 10 tonight and she will sleep until 3 or 4 am again.  Hoping to move that PM down to 8 pm by next week and than work on the 3 or 4 am the week after that.

Well I have to go because a certain little princess is waking up.  I will post updated periodically and if you are an adoptive family I will try to post tips for traveling or things I wished someone would have told me.  Thanks to my family and friends who have been so supportive.  Thanks for following our journey.
