HI ALL,

We have been home for one week Baby J is doing well loves her big brother and daddy more each day.  I just cannot imagie life without her.  But read on for more about the life of a baby from China.

We visited the Dr. who ordered a bunch of blood work which is common for babys adopted from orphanages its routine.  Well the Dr. called this morning to tell me that Baby Js lead level was elevated.  I say how elevated he says 45 which according to the standard she will need to be hospitalized for 5 ays while she receives chelation therapy.  So off to the hospital we go for her to start her chelation therapy which is an I V medication she will receive once a day for five days that binds to the lead and is then excreted through the kidneys and every 8 hours she will take some by mouth to bind with the lead in her gi tract.   This stuff  taste like a match the kind you light(I tested it) she takes it but not too willingly. She screamed her little head off when they put the IV in so we are pretty sure her lungs are working properly as is my hearing.  She is such a good baby.  After they were done poking her and checking her out she was back to her happy go lucky self. laughing and playing with her brother.  She seeks me out for comfort which just melts my heart.  Well I will go for now I must tend topeanut but she is adjusting to being in the hospital just fine so far.
